“Was thinking of how to answer you as there were too many happy moments that my wife and I have during the trip but was too caught up with work and festive season.
Food – thanks for all the recommendations, we didn’t try all as we are usually very full from the first or second meal you recommend hahaha. We definitely enjoyed Petrus and Le grand vefour. It is definitely worth it, esp petrus not only the food but the service. We also enjoyed the Bruxelles, mussels are definitely fresh, and dean street townhouse, the food and atmosphere is good. We also enjoyed Le petit bordelais as we never expected it to be that good for that price.
People – the two host that you provided are helpful and nice and the place that we stay in are enjoyable, esp in Paris where it is cosy and near to everywhere. Although we walked a lot, my wife and I have no complains as there are always things to see and look and the route that you have planned for us are thoughtful and caters to our need. Esp the shopping and eating route, my wife bought so many things that I thought we might not have bags to bring back haha”

“We came back from a satisfying 16-day autumn self drive holiday in Central Japan thanks to the beautiful weather and excellent planning done by our travel planner from Gourmet Trails. We started off in mid November driving through Ena, Gero, Takayama, Hikone and ended off in ancient Kyoto in time to witness its Japan koyo splendour at its peak.
Even prior to the trip while we were discussing the itinerary, Pamela was very patient, responsive and thoughtful in taking into consideration our interests while designing the itinerary. As a result, we enjoyed good accommodation, delicious meals and had lovely walks enjoying breathtaking fall sceneries.

“The trip was wonderful! Had so much fun in Japan! We loved the temple stay in Koyasan! And Kyoto and Hakone is very beautiful in autumn! We also loved Tokyo with its shopping!!! Tried most of the food too! Absolutely loved the Unagi restaurant !! And instead of the robot restaurant in Tokyo – we went to a ninja themed restaurant!! It was a great experience too !! All the hotels that you’ve chosen and booked for us had the best views! The moment we draw the curtains we were greeted by breathtaking sites! Enough to make up for the long drives on the road.
Tour Guide – Eddie was fantastic!! He really treated us very well! Arrived to pick us up at Taoyuan Airport in a suit, no less! His 6 seater VW van was really comfy too. Jared and myself think that he’s definitely one of the best tour guides we’ve ever had. He cares alot for his guests and even gave us a handphone just in case if we were to lose each other. He is personable and very friendly. Goes the extra mile just to make sure that you’re comfortable. He remembers little details, like I mentioned that I wanted to try Sunny hill pineapple cake, he bought a box for me when we were leaving TW. I wanted to try Taiwanese bananas, he went to buy 2 pieces for me. Haha… that sort of thing”

We particularly loved the Tamina Therme (especially after a physically-exhausting walk up the Heidiland) and the guided nature hike with Ms Doris. Ms Doris deserved a special mention; upon seeing that we were inappropriately dressed for the hike, she generously took us to her home and provided us with the right gear. “This trip has been the most exciting for both of us! We came back with many beautiful memories of South Africa, be its people, its nature, its animals…basically everything. Everything went well with your recommendations on the various accomodations and the restaurants recommended to us on great food.
First time self-drive experience was memorable as it was exciting especially when we explored Swatsberg Mountain Pass during a super cloudy day and got lost during our journey to Swellendam. But, at the end of the day, both of us loved the freedom to do a self-drive holiday! Overall, I have been raving about our adventures at South Africa and many friends are really interested to make this their next destination.
